How to Get Started With AdSense

How to Get Started With AdSense
One of the main advantages of AdSense is that it is easy for publishers to get their ads on their site. Of course, it may take from 5 minutes till an hour for Google to do so, but it doesn't matter. You still need to write some content.

Integrating AdSense to your blog takes no longer than few minutes(depends on the theme you use. Sometimes you will have to work with the Theme Editor to get the placement right), which is very rare for a PPC program.

The first thing you need to do is to register with the AdSense program. It's easy and it won't take long. The annoying part is the approval time. Sometimes it takes about two days, before Google says "OK", which is rather annoying, but as I already said, you shouldn't rush anywhere.

You can use AdSense for text, images, search boxes, RSS feeds. It really depends on what you want. You need to make your decision based on your sites structure, your content and your goals. Also there are link units. They are very similar to the text ads. I'm not sure whether you should use them, because they did never really work for me.

After you've chosen the type of ad you want people to see, it's time to choose the ads format and color. You can basically select any color palette you want. Google offers some of its own, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to create one for yourself. There's always the possibility to watch the preview of your ad, so you don't have to worry about screwing up.

After you finished with the customization, click on continue and now you will be presented with a section titled "AdSense for content". You can click anywhere in the box and you will automatically select the whole code. Paste the code in the appropriate section. And that's it!

Now all you need to do is to write some content (unique content, because Google doesn't like duplicates). Google AdSense crawlers will visit your site and using a certain algorithm will display relevant to your content ads.
